Thanking God in All Circumstances.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds me to thank God regardless of my circumstances. Whether we are in a season of abundant blessing or affliction, Jesus calls us to thank him in everything. Tonight I’m thankful for God’s close presence in the difficult and joyful days. The Lord promises never to leave us. How awesome!
Calla + Caleb // Wedding Programs.
I had so much fun finishing up Calla and Caleb’s wedding suite! I decided to make program fans so that each guest could fan themselves during the outdoor ceremony. These became quite handy in the 95 degree heat! The wedding was held at a beautiful vintage barn in Benton Harbor, Michigan. It was a lovely day filled with lots of love, pie, dancing, and celebration! Congratulations to these two. I already can’t wait to visit them out east this fall.
website update.
For quite a while I’ve been wanting to re-design my logo and website for my invitations. So today I sat down and decided to do just that. Last month my friend Louie came over and shot my invitations. It was a lot of fun to style them and capture the designs up-close. I’m so thankful for his strong eye and talent!
My new logomark was inspired by Anthropologie. I love everything about this store. Their clothing is unique and beautiful and their houseware items are clean and simple. Overall, I wanted my logo to capture the fun and modern-vintage design of many of my invitations.
There are a few minor tweaks that will continue to be made to my website, but you can take a look at it now at katiefore.com!
Harvest {Naperville}.
Things have been busy busy busy! I am wrapping up a few wedding programs right now and I’m also in the midst of some other freelance work for Harvest Naperville, the church that I attend. I serve in the High School Ministry and I’ve been given the awesome opportunity to design a t-shirt for the Harvest Students summer camp during the end of July in Bearaboo, Wisconsin. I’ll also be designing a couple of logos for both the high school ministry (HSM) and junior high ministry (JHM). These ministries are re-branding themselves from “The Rock” and “Jam” to these new names. I’m excited to be able to serve my church in this way.
Here are a couple of t-shirt designs I’ve worked on so far. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please send them my way!
Barbie + Arne // Wedding Invitation.
Barbie and I met in our first grade class and we have been friends for as long as I can remember! Arne, Barbie, and I also went to college together, so it has been fun for me to be able to do invitations when I know both the bride and the groom. It was an honor to be able to work on their invitations and incorporate her elegant and chic style into the wedding. I am so excited for them to start their life together. Their July 6 wedding in Geneva, IL is going to be beautiful!
Tessa + Mike // Wedding Invitation.
Another invitation is finished! Tessa and Mike are getting married August 4th in Galena, Illinois. It was wonderful to work with Tessa on her invitations. Her inspiration came from the location where their wedding is taking place. The church on the invitation is where they will be getting married. Her overall wedding is going to be a little more vintage rustic so I incorporated burlap and linen paper and tied a monogrammed tag around it. The invitation, along with the reply card and envelope will be placed in a pocket enclosure and sealed in an envelope. It was a lot of fun for me to work on more of a DIY invitation where I assembled things and didn’t just plug away on the computer! 2 invites down…1 more to go!
Calla + Caleb // Wedding Invitation.
Yay! I have finished Calla and Caleb’s wedding invitations! This project was especially fun because I got to design them for my roommate. I incorporated some of the same elements that were in the save the date into their invitation. This unique style of invitation makes a pocket for the reply card to slip in to, and it also folds right up into an envelope.
Their July 15th wedding will be spectacular!
